MOJA FAN Album Launch

Earlier this year Derby Jazz and mjazz commissioned Gary Reader to develop a new version of his longstanding MOJA project through which he champions and celebrates the spirituality of jazz greats Pharoah Sanders, Alice Coltrane and Don Cherry. In MOJA FAN Gary deploys his saxophones alongside the keyboards of Lucas Walters, Jack Benjamin on bass, percussionist Owen Campbell and drummer Jamie Sykes. The empathy between the musicians in MOJA FAN deepened during a series of open-air gigs around Derby this summer before going into the studio in September to record the album.
