A vibrant and highly individual pianist and composer, Zoe Rahman’s style is deeply rooted in jazz yet it reflects her classical background, British/Bengali heritage and her very broad musical taste. A MOBO Award winner, Mercury Prize nominee and Ivor Novello Award winner, Zoe has established herself as a unique presence in the British music industry.
Zoe’s latest album, Hull Suite Live, due for release in July 2026, features her world-class trio, with drummer Gene Calderazzo (Pharoah Sanders, Randy Brecker) and bassist Alec Dankworth (Abdullah Ibrahim, Dave Brubeck). These long-standing musical partners display an electrifying synergy with Zoe on piano.
Zoe’s new music centres around a suite written for World Piano Day 2024, and explores themes of family, migration and the sea, tracing Zoe's own family history of migration and the story of a piano. You can expect earthy blues influences, soulful melodies and cinematic musical textures that highlight the trio’s dynamic energy and interaction.
Zoe Rahman – piano
Alec Dankworth – double bass
Gene Caldarazzo - drums

Jazzpac events are run by volunteers who organise live jazz events held at the Bue Room in Lincoln. We have an annual program of around ten gigs a year presenting the best national and, occasionally, international musicians on the jazz scene today. Tickets for our events are available to book in advance although on most occasions will also be available to buy on the door. Whether you're one of our many regulars or it's your first time at one of our jazz nights, you'll always get a warm welcome from our volunteers on the desk and by the staff at The Blue Room. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like any more information about our jazz evenings at this charming venue in Lincoln's historic uphill area.
