Hugh Pascall on Flugelhorn
The Blue Room, Lincoln

Hugh Pascall Quintet

Sat 2nd Nov | 7:30pm

Award-winning trumpeter and composer, Hugh presents music from his two albums Borderlands & Viewfinder with this stellar quintet. Influenced by Freddie Hubbard, Joe Henderson, Wayne Shorter and Tom Harrell, Hugh's lyrical, vibrant and modern approach to post-bob jazz is melodic and swinging, featuring atmospheric and expressive ballads rich in harmony and character. He recently toured Europe with The Last Poets, the UK with Tony Kofi's Inside Straight and with rising star guitarist Aiden Pope's new Octet. After a critically-acclaimed UK tour Hugh's quartet was then augmented with the amazing James Allsop on sax.

Hugh Pascall - Trumpet & Flugelhorn

John Turville - Piano

Dave Whitford - Bass

Jay Davis - Drums

James Allsop - Tenor Sax

Jazzpac at The Blue Room

Jazzpac events are run by volunteers who organise live jazz events held at the Bue Room in Lincoln. We have an annual program of around ten gigs  a year presenting the best national and, occasionally, international musicians on the jazz scene today. Tickets for our events are available to book in advance although on most occasions will also be available to buy on the door. Whether you're one of our many regulars or it's your first time at one of our jazz nights, you'll always get a warm welcome from our volunteers on the desk and by the staff at The Blue Room. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like any more information about our jazz evenings at this charming venue in Lincoln's historic uphill area.
