The Music of Dudley Moore - Chris Ingham Trio

Wed 17th May | 7:30pm
Booking: Eventbrite Option

Chris Ingham piano | Simon Paterson bass | George Double drums. Swing, humour and poignancy - jazz joy

Beloved comic actor Dudley Moore (1935–2002) was also one of the UK’s most dazzling, swinging jazz pianists - and composer of breadth and depth.

The Chris Ingham Trio revisit his fabulous music on their acclaimed show The Jazz of Dudley Moore. In between tunes, pianist and raconteur Chris Ingham sets the scene that places the tunes in period context. This spans the 1960s era of Dud’s fabulous trio albums on Decca records, playing on the TV show Not Only But Also and the movie soundtracks for Bedazzled and 30 is a Dangerous Age, Cynthia.

Unfailingly tuneful and spiced with gentle harmonic guile…Dudley would have been delighted – Observer

An intimate and heartfelt pleasure – London Jazz News

Hear some of The Jazz of Dudley Moore on Chris Ingham’s website.  And for period context, listen to the Dudley Moore Trio of yesteryear performing tunes from his LP Jazz, Blues & Moore and a documentaryAfter the Laughter, a sensitive and moving biopic with a focus on Dud’s later years. ''The funniest, saddest and most talented musician, composer, actor and comedian''.
