SINGJAZZ 3

We are delighted to welcome you to the 3rd of our recently launched SingJazz workshop series, led by jazz vocalist and educator, Yvonne Barrie.

These monthly workshops will cover the fundamentals of jazz singing, including keys, tempo and feel for the material, as well as common jazz styles and structures. With support from a professional accompanist, you will gain experience in communication with other live musicians in a jazz setting. These sessions are friendly and inclusive and aim to build a supportive community for aspiring jazz singers to develop their skills, the confidence to attend jam sessions and to develop their own performance style.
The July 25th session will focus on some of the “trickier” standards, such as “Twisted” and “Nature Boy”, which require a little more range and agility. Practice materials will be sent out on booking.

In order to maximise singing time for all involved, the numbers for each session are capped at 10, so secure your place as soon as possible!

These workshops are available to anyone over the age of 16 who has an interest in singing jazz, whether you are a complete newbie or already have some jazz singing experience.

Cost is £20 per session (£15 for low or unwaged) + booking fee
