A celebration of the music of the great Louis 'Satchmo' Armstrong - a special gig celebrating 15 years of Jazz Steps Live at the Libraries!

BAFTA Award–nominated performing artist Gwyn Jay Allen joins award winning pianist and composer Alex Wilson for I Love Louis, a vibrant musical journey through the life and music of jazz legend Louis Armstrong.

Collaborating since the 1990s, this duo (along with bassist Paul Gray) blend electrifying jazz performance with storytelling, revealing the man behind the smile while tracing jazz’s extraordinary journey from Africa to New Orleans and back again, celebrating Armstrong’s timeless songs and enduring global legacy.

Born in Belper, and based now in Switzerland, Alex has performed in over 60 countries with numerous renown artists including Wynton Marsalis, Ernest Ranglin and Courtney Pine.

Both high-profile artists have numerous albums to their names and have international touring schedules. It's super-special to have 'I Love Louis'  performed at Inspire's Library venues - great jazz on your doorstep. And these gigs are part of celebrating 15 years of the partnership between Inspire and Jazz Steps, bringing great jazz - 'Live at the Libraries'.

Recommended that you book early!
