Alcyona Mick is a critically acclaimed pianist and composer at the forefront of the UK jazz scene.

nominated for a Parliamentary Jazz Instrumentalist Award, her own projects include a trio with Paul Clarvis/Calum Gourlay, duo with Tori Freestone and a duo with cellist Kate Shortt performing classical works and improvisations. She works in many other projects with bandleaders including the London Jazz Orchestra, Brigitte Beraha Lucid Dreamers, Randolph Matthews, Miguel Gorodi Quintet, Casimir Connection, Perfect Stranger, Josephine Davies ‘Satori’, Chris Biscoe Qtet, Paul Clarvis/Stuart Hall trio and has worked with Anglo/Egyptian artist Natacha Atlas for many years performing worldwide. She has played on TRT music series in Istanbul with many Turkish artists, and performed with a wide array of other musicians including Yazz Ahmed, Henry Lowther’s Still Waters, Pete Hurt Quartet, Ingrid and Christine Jensen/Whirlwind bigband, Eddie Parker's Debussy Mirrored, Alec Dankworth/Cleo Laine band, Mircan Kaya, Bachar Zarkan, Lena Chamamyan, Jerry Dammers Spatial aka Orchestra, Ibrahim Maalouf, Macadi Nahhas and many more.

As a composer she has a Master's in Composing music for film from the National Film and Television school. She has written and produced music for independent short films, documentaries, animation and performs live to silent cinema. She won an award for Best Soundtrack at the Anima Mundi International Festival, Brazil.

Leicester Jazz House supports and promotes the principles of ACE and others regarding the importance of equality, diversity and inclusivity. Leicester Jazz House CIC is a volunteer-run not-for-profit organisation bringing contemporary jazz of the highest quality to Leicestershire audiences through the programme of events mainly at the Musician Venue, Attenborough Arts Centre and Y Theatre; and also promoting jazz in other ways, including through education.
