Critically acclaimed crossover quartet of top-pedigree musicians performing a fusion of jazz noir, evocative lyrics and guitar/electronics-driven sound from their forthcoming new album

ISQ, is a critically acclaimed quartet of top-pedigree musicians (check-out the line-up below) performing a fusion of jazz noir, evocative lyrics and electronic soundscapes, led by London-based vocalist/composer Irena Serra.

The band’s exciting new direction – as featured on their forthcoming album ‘The Silence Is Deafening’ – has a guitar/electronics-driven sound that Blue in Green Radio rated as “noir jazz meets Massive Attack. Utterly brilliant!”.

Line-up:

Irena Serra - vocals/electronics (“Billie Holiday meets Kate Bush”)

Luca Boscagin - guitar (Jason Rebello, Cinematic Orchestra)

Richard Sadler - bass (Neil Cowley Trio)

Chris Nickolls - drums (Andy Sheppard, Jean Toussaint)

Irena’s new work is a fearless soundtrack to womanhood, blending history, personal narratives, and urgent contemporary themes with a modern edge.

“…Their arrangements draw on jazz, rock and electronic music, using the skills of the band’s individuals to the full, in music which is uniquely theirs…” – London Jazz review

Book now to enjoy ISQ’s intriguing and affective music – gems from a multi-talented original crossover jazz quartet.
