Since joining the ever-growing community of Tomorrow’s Warriors, she has developed a
versatile musical voice and has played in a range of ensembles in
venues such as the Queen Elizabeth Hall, Ronnie Scott’s and the
Barbican. She has arranged and played for the Nu Civilisation
Orchestra and wrote the original score for BBC Radio 3's 'Gatsby in
Harlem', which won 3 awards at the British Audio Awards, one
being the prestigious Audio of The Year. Alongside playing with
other artists, her solo project, The Emily Tran Quintet, is a sonic
collage of influences , shedding light on her varied musical
upbringing - from playing piano and organ in the Vietnamese
Church as a child, to more recently studying classical composition
at the Royal Academy of Music. Her versatility has made her an in-
demand player and composer and has seen her play at Love
Supreme Festival, Brick Lane Jazz Festival and We Out Here. The
music is spirited, with a quiet intensity that makes the band one to
watch out for!
