One of the outstanding gigs of the 2021 Herts Jazz Festival was a quartet featuring Jonathan Gee and Denys Baptiste. It is a real coup to bring these musicians to Leicester. Backed by a superlative young rhythm section, award winning virtuoso saxophonist Denys Baptiste and group leader, Jonathan Gee, one of the most prolific and imaginative pianists on the current UK jazz scene, constitute a remarkable quartet which should not be missed. Leicester Jazz House CIC is a volunteer-run not-for-profit organisation bringing contemporary jazz of the highest quality to Leicestershire audiences through the programme of events mainly at the Musician Venue, Attenborough Arts Centre and Y Theatre; and also promoting jazz in other ways, including through education.
