His sound draws together a rich spectrum of influences, spanning spiritual jazz, jazz fusion, avant-garde, R&B, UK dance music, and contemporary Black British sounds. His playing takes direct influences from the likes of Thelonious Monk, Pharoah Sanders, Ahmad Jamal and Ravel.
Walters approaches composition as a deeply personal process, using sound as a way to translate emotion, thought and lived experience into immersive musical worlds. At its core is a clear intention: to create music that is truly authentic, spiritually uplifting and capable of genuinely resonating with audiences. This sense of authenticity is central to his artistry; his music stands as a direct and honest reflection of who he is.
His growing reputation has already been recognised across the UK. In 2026, he was awarded the Midlands Jazz Young Musician Commission, marking him as one of the most exciting emerging talents in the East Midlands. He was also a semi-finalist in the prestigious BBC Young Jazz Musician competition in 2024 and was shortlisted for Channel 4’s The Piano, where he performed for Jon Batiste.
He is currently preparing to release his first single, offering a glimpse of his debut album commissioned by Midlands Jazz and Arts Council England. Co-produced with acclaimed pianist, composer and mentor Robert Mitchell, the project marks a significant step in his artistic journey and signals the arrival of a compelling new voice in British jazz.
He has performed extensively across the UK, with appearances at leading venues and festivals including Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club, Pizza Express Soho, Jazz at the Lescar, Peggy's Skylight, Hockley Hustle, Leeds Jazz Festival, Leeds Emerging Artist Festival, and Lancaster Jazz Festival. Walters has also performed with a wide range of artists across genres, including MOJA FAN, Benjamin Luhis, Hannabiell and Midnight Blue, Marcus Joseph, Dominique Simone, JAFRO, Sam Cotton, National Youth Jazz Orchestra, and Jack Wolff.

Leicester Jazz House CIC is a volunteer-run not-for-profit organisation bringing contemporary jazz of the highest quality to Leicestershire audiences through the programme of events mainly at the Musician Venue, Attenborough Arts Centre and Y Theatre; and also promoting jazz in other ways, including through education.
