mjazz launches new funding schemes to support jazz in the East Midlands

New opportunities to help grow and support the jazz scene across the East Midlands.

Whether you're a musician, promoter or community organiser, these microgrants are designed to help you take action, build audiences, and create new opportunities.

Funds are limited and expected to be highly competitive, so don’t delay — applications are now open and close on a rolling basis. Maximum grant available is £500 per fund.

 

Jazz Jam & Improv Night Support Fund

Helping cover basic costs for informal performance spaces like jams and open improvisation nights — perfect for encouraging new players, audiences, and creative freedom.

🎼 Young Musician Development Fund

This fund supports young or early-career musicians who want to overcome barriers and grow their careers — from mentoring and lessons to rehearsal space or equipment.

📣 New Promoter Support Fund

Want to put on your first jazz night? This fund is for new or emerging promoters who want to kickstart activity in their local area and need support to get going.

🚐 East Midlands Touring Support Fund

Open to East Midlands-based jazz musicians or bands who have secured a gig outside their home patch and need help covering travel, costs, or promotion.
