mjazz Annual Impact Report 2024/25 — Read It Now

We’re proud to share the mjazz Annual Impact Report 2024/25. This year has been one of transformation, creativity, and deepened impact across the East Midlands jazz scene. From sold-out performances and innovative new commissions to inclusive education projects and major festival moments, mjazz has worked tirelessly to build a thriving, diverse jazz ecosystem.

Report highlights include:

🎼 137 live performances across the region

🧑‍🎤 564 artists involved, with 35% identifying with protected characteristics

🏫 32 workshops engaging musicians of all ages

🎪 Support for major events like Lincoln Jazz Festival and For the Love of Jazz (Leicester), reaching thousands

🌱 Launch of the Jazz Hang series — new networking events for musicians and creatives

💡 Tailored artist training, from funding workshops to career-building strategies

🌍 Environmental responsibility initiatives, including carbon tracking at live events

As Chair Lucy Reid notes in her introduction:

“We remain deeply committed to supporting musicians, building audiences, and fostering inclusive participation across the East Midlands. The appetite for innovation, collaboration, and sustainability is strong.”

Looking ahead to 2025/26, mjazz will continue championing local talent, investing in youth, and evolving strategically to meet the challenges of a changing cultural landscape.
