mjazz Announces New Funding Awards

Earlier this year mjazz announced its first ever grant funding scheme to support jazz musicians and promoters in the region. We're delighted to announce the successful candidates.

These awards celebrate creativity, collaboration and the vibrant future of jazz in the Midlands and beyond.

Touring Support

Helen Gayle – Performance at Warwick Arts Centre

Electric Gumbo – Autumn 2025 touring activity

Matt Ratcliffe – Performance at Jazz Upfront Festival

Andrew Wood – Performances with Koko Collective in London

Charlotte Keeffe – Gigs in Brighton, Canterbury, and Norwich with her quartet Right Here Right Now

Jazz Jam & Improvisation Night Support

Greenhouse Jam (Derby) – Promotion, venue costs and visiting artist fees

Nottingham Jazz WorkshopWorld Jazz Improvisation Workshop to grow their user base

Melton Jazz Jam – Venue hire, musician fees, marketing and programme development

Perkalater (Nottingham) – Keyboard purchase (with additional support from Nottingham Jazz Steps)

New Promoters Support

James Sykes – Collaboration between jazz, hip-hop and Indian Classical musicians in Leicester

Newark Jazz – Launch of a brand-new jazz programme

Ola Szmidt – Events featuring Brownswood Collective artists alongside Leicester-based musicians
