Become a Jazz Promoter in the East Midlands: New Promoters Scheme 2026–27

Are you passionate about jazz and eager to bring new sounds and audiences to the East Midlands? The mjazz New Promoters Scheme is designed to develop the next generation of jazz promoters. We are seeking new ideas, new voices, and innovative approaches to grow audiences, support artists, and strengthen the regional jazz scene . Whether you are an individual, a group, or an organization, you don't need extensive experience to apply. What matters most is your vision and your commitment to making it happen .

What We Offer

We are providing support to up to four promoters, each receiving up to £1,000 to help unlock and develop their promotional work .

Beyond the funding, successful applicants will receive a comprehensive support package to ensure their project thrives:

  • Mentoring: Expert guidance and mentoring from the mjazz team .
  • Programming: Support with the planning and delivery of your events .
  • Growth: Professional advice on marketing and audience development .
  • Networking: Direct access to industry networks and partners .

 

Who Should Apply?

We believe jazz should be for everyone. We actively welcome applications from all backgrounds and are particularly interested in those currently underrepresented in the jazz sector, including:

  • People from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds .
  • Disabled people and those with specific access requirements .
  • People from lower socio-economic backgrounds .
  • Individuals operating in areas with limited jazz provision .

 

What Kind of Projects Are We Looking For?

We want ideas that are clear, realistic, and achievable . You could propose:

  • A live event or a small series of performances .
  • Activities hosted in new or non-traditional spaces .
  • Work targeting a specific community or audience .
  • Projects that blend performance with participation or education .

 

How We Evaluate Proposals

Our selection process prioritizes projects that demonstrate:

  • Clarity & Deliverability: A well-defined idea with a realistic plan and budget
  • Audience Focus: A clear understanding of who the event is for and how to reach them
  • Regional Value: A contribution that brings something new to the East Midlands
  • Commitment & Potential: A willingness to learn and a project that could lead to ongoing activity.

 

How to Apply

Deadline: June 15th

Submit a short proposal including your details, your idea (what, where, and why), your target audience, a basic budget, and the support you require .
