Nottingham Jazz Workshops

A friendly group of amateur musicians, who come together on Wednesday evenings to learn, enjoy and appreciate jazz in a relaxed setting.

Sessions are professionally tutored by our music director and keyboard accompanist Steve Sherriff. We usually work on two or three tunes per session and focus on learning improvisation.

There are no auditions. We are a mixed-ability, inclusive group (18+). Sessions are very informal, and are run on a 'drop in' basis – turn up, pay £10 and play with whoever is there on the night.

There is also an opportunity to build performance experience by participating in one or two gigs a year, which are a lot of fun.

You can expect "Camaraderie, challenge, inspiration and a safe space to make mistakes"-NJW attendee.

We meet at the Lion pub, Basford three Wednesdays a month.
